Licence Options for Royal Mail's Postcode Address File (PAF)
The
Postcode Address File (PAF) is the only central source for UK residential and business addresses. The file holds all 28 million delivery addresses and is available through us as approved Royal Mail distributors of the Postcode Address File (PAF).
Your output is supplied under licence to the Royal Mail for 12 months use and you will receive quarterly updates during the licence period. Be assured that the PAF file you receive shall reflect the very latest postcode and address changes.

Postcode Address File PAF: Single User Licence:
Definition: An individual user or individual work station or
personal terminal or personal hand-held or otherwise portable device internal to a single legal entity
or owned by a single individual. Data may not be used or made available to any other work station, terminal, pc
or person at any one single point in time.

Postcode Address File PAF: Multi User Licence:
Definition: Between 2 and 300 Users working for or controlled by a
single organisation / legal entity. "User" means an
individual work station or terminal or hand-held or otherwise
portable device internal to the single legal entity.

Definition:
A solution whereby the licence holder operates a publicly
available website (or technical equivalent) and or offers
products and services to its customers and which can offer, show,
capture, verify, update or amend an address and or postcode
entered by its customers against the product file.

Postcode Address File PAF: Corporate / System / Intranet Licence:
Definition: Where the End-User is a single individual organisation
or legal entity trading or operating under one name, and the data
is resident upon a single server or other storage device
(“System”) to which two or more Users employed by the Corporation
are directly or indirectly connected. This Licence allows
for use on an Intranet but may not be used on a system where
entities or persons outside of the Corporation may access or view
the data or parts of the data. If the data is to be used
across the Internet on a web site for instance then an additional
Internet Licence should be purchased.
